Meet our Teachers:
Anne Vaaler - Voice
Anne has over 35 years of both vocal and choral Teaching/performing experience, and has taught students from infant through retirement age. She believes that the joy of singing belongs to everyone, regardless of skill or purpose. Anne earned her BA in Music/Vocal Performance from Luther College in Iowa, and then studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and San Francisco State University, where she earned her CA teaching credential in music.
Marty Varner - Guitar and Mandolin
Marty has been playing both mandolin and guitar since he was three years old. He got his start playing at the Nevada county campgrounds at the Father’s Day music festival, but has since gone on to play with the likes of Molly Tuttle, AJ Lee, Frank Wakefield, and Michael Cleveland. He has a masters in musicology from the University of California Irvine, and is now playing in local bluegrass band caltucky! He is available for both mandolin and guitar lessons.
Jackie Galloway - Piano
Jackie has been performing music since 1991 and teaching since 2013. Her goal is to bring the joy of music to as many people as she can, whether it is through teaching or performing. She believes Music is an international language and once you learn it, you have it for the rest of your life. She finds great joy in teaching and is currently focused on her passion of teaching and playing music.
David Lee - Drums & Guitar
David has been playing music since second grade starting with Piano and moving to Guitar when he was 12 years old. He started playing drums when he was 14 and soon realized that it was his main instrument of choice. He has now been playing drums for 17 years and has taught drum lessons in the same location for the past 10 years and is now teaching at Miners Harmony Music a few days a week. He has been in multiple bands over the years, even went on a European tour with his old rock band Shotgun Sawyer. He plays in a few local bands, but most frequently with his band The Moody Cat.

I started playing guitar 8 years ago and have largely been self taught. Being self taught I have a good perspective on what I wish I would have learned from the start and am looking forward to sharing that! Aside from playing I'm also super interested in building instruments and have put together a few of my own guitar builds.
Ashley Petrie -
Flute, Saxophone, Songwriting/Composition, Violin/Viola, Clarinet , Trumpet, & GuitarAshley is a conductor, composer, and singer-songwriter with a love for music of all kinds! She received her Bachelors of Arts in Music Composition from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Masters of Music in Orchestral Conducting at the University of Redlands. Currently she works as the Music Director for Bear River High School where she teaches concert band, choir, jazz ensemble and music lab. Privately, she offers lessons on her primary instruments: flute, saxophone and songwriting/ composition.
Moran Even - Piano
Moran TRANSFORMS ideas into vibrant, living experiences. From composing Sappho to reimagining Cinderella, his work blends creativity with purpose, INSPIRING others to see the world in new ways. As a mentor, I spark curiosity and encourage students to explore their own artistic voice, CREATING spaces where creativity thrives.
Jason Wilkins - Upright bass & Electric bass
Jason has been performing on bass for over 35 years. He is an upright bass, electric bass, and a washtub instructor. He has a Bachelors degree in upright Contrabass from the University of California Irvine and has studied with Dr. Art Davis, Patrick "putter" Smith, and Darek Oles. He has also performed with several Jazz groups, rock groups, as well as Symphonic Orchestras. He likes to teach and perform all styles of music from Bach-Rock. Jason has taught music in the past at Gilmore Music, Coast Music, The Star Factory, and Excelsior Music as taught in public schools in Anaheim, CA.
